July 4th is a holiday that involves a lot of time spent outdoors in the warm summer air. Whether watching fireworks or a parade, spending the day by the water or just grilling, your customers will need to be refreshed this Independence Day. We have gotten together, some of our favorite July 4th recipes to serve in your specialty beverage shop, easily at a cookout or other celebration. Berries are really popular around Independence Day because most of them are in season in the summer, July is even “National Blueberry Month”. Whether it is frozen and blended, caffeine filled or sugar filled, satisfy your customers this Independence Day with some fun specialty drinks!
As mentioned in our 4th of July Promotions Blog, Iced Americanos are a fun drink to focus on for July 4th, the day we celebrate American Independence. To make a “Berry Americano”, use ¾ oz. of your berry of choice (blueberry, raspberry, strawberry…) syrup, and add to a glass of 2 shots of chilled espresso, ¾ a cup cold water, a ¼ a cup of half & half and ice. The half and half really makes the flavor show up more with creamy goodness.
You can make a “Red, White & True Latte” for your coffee lovers as well . For a 16 oz. drink, fill a glass with ice, add 6 oz. of milk, 2 shots of espresso, 0.75 oz. of raspberry syrup, 0.75 oz. of peach syrup and stir.
To cool your customers off, you can serve a “Blueberry Cream Soda”. Fill your 16 oz. glass with ice and add 1 oz. of blueberry syrup, ½ oz. of French vanilla syrup and 7 oz. of sparkling water. This tasty and bubbly drink will satisfy anyone looking for a caffeine free drink option in your shop.
For smoothies you can whip up a “Red, White and Blueberry Smoothie”. If you use powdered mixes, make your standard smoothie drink with a ¼ a cup of fresh or frozen strawberries and blueberries. Drizzle white chocolate on your cup to decorate, or on top of the smoothie. If you prefer pour over smoothies, just choose your mix that contains strawberries and blueberries and decorate the cup with white chocolate.
Lemonades are full of nostalgia for the summers past, so you can’t have a 4th of July celebration without this classic! We have DaVinci Gourmet Fruit Innovations that make a great classic lemonade with just a few pumps, water and ice! Add another flavor for a fun and fruity drink. Another Lemonade twist is Frozen Flavored Lemonades.DaVinci Gourmet and Jet are offering an Arctic Lemonade promotion right now with blood orange, raspberry and strawberry Fruit Innovations. Adding 3 pumps of these syrups to the lemonade mix, gives this classic refreshing beverage something new and delicious!
If Tea is your customers choice for a refreshing beverage, it is very easy to add syrups to make a special drink, with an up charge and little cost to you. A shot of any flavor can bring life to a regular tea. Try a “Raspberry Tea Sparkler” this Independence Day. To 7 oz. of tea, add 1 oz. of raspberry syrup and 2 oz. of sparkling water or soda water. This gives the tea a carbonated and flavorful kick. Flavored teas are one of the fastest growing specialty beverages in the US, so if you already serve tea, flavored tea is an easy way to add more variety and profits.
If you use pour over smoothies, create a “Firework Smoothie” for this 4th! Use Strawberry Banana smoothie mix (about 6 to 7 oz. depending on brand) and mix in some vanilla cream base powder (this also depends on brand, but about 1 tablespoon). Blend the mixes with 16 oz. of ice and 2 strawberries for texture. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles!

There is no bigger celebration in summer than the annual celebration of America’s independence, July 4th. Fireworks, sparklers, teas, red, white and blue can be found in abundance, during the festivities. Be sure to celebrate this holiday with your customers by offering some patriotic promotions! Here at Stockton Graham & Co. we have come up with a few ideas to promote your independently owned shop during this Independence Day Holiday!
The 4th of July is not just about remembering the nation’s freedom, but as well as our own. As many of our customers are independent, local businesses, we suggest you use this holiday to shine a little light onto yourself. Remind your customers that by supporting independent shops, they are supporting small business, and the local economy. Have an “Independent Independence Day” celebration, where you not only recognize our country, but one of the things that make it great, local business. Your specialty shop’s independence and freedom is something that makes your business standout, just like America!
Create a specialty beverage just for the week of July 4th. What about an Iced Americano? Traditional Americanos are 1/3 espresso and 2/3 of hot water, so it’s an easy drink to turn iced. Just chill the espresso and use cool water instead of hot! Frozen Lemonade is a great 4th of July beverage, especially if it’s flavored with strawberries or blueberries to make it “red, yellow and blue”.
You can even go so far to have a 4th of July whipped cream to top all your specialty coffee beverages with. Just mix red and blue food color stripes into your whipped cream, or consider flavoring it with berries. All you need is 3oz of strawberry or blueberry syrup, ½ a pint of heavy whipping cream and your whipped cream canister.
Since it’s the 4th you can create special reward cards to hand out, that day alone. 3 drink purchases in the next 2 weeks will get the card holder a free 4th! You can specify which drinks you would like included in this promotion or let them choose from your entire menu, it’s a celebration and great way to award customers!
Flavored lemonade and teas are big hits during the blistering months of summer. Set up a lemonade or tea bar the week of the 4th and let customers create their own flavored drinks. Who knows, maybe someone will create your next menu item! This will also give many customers an introduction into flavored iced drinks, and let them know they can purchase them from your shop.
Consider doing a 2 for $4 promotion on the 4th! You can choose any deal. We suggest 2 medium Americanos for $4, or 2 small smoothies for $4. “$4 Beverages on the 4th” is a fun promotion to get people to share your drinks with their friends or family members, and introduce your shop to more customers! If you sell cookies or other baked items, this is another great time to use this promotion, a baked good with a drip coffee for $4 dollars on the 4th.
If your town has a 4th of July parade, sponsor a float with your baristas riding on it! Make sure your shop’s name is prominent, so you can get the advertising. This is something fun for your employees and the community. Let the crowd know about your great beverages with coupons to hand out, promotional cups, candy and more. Get creative!
Stockton Graham & Co. has several promotions going on this summer to help you with your Independence Day celebrations. Our blender program offers free products when you purchase a Vitamix or Blendtec blender from Stockton Graham & Co. We have $5 off a case of new brands Mocafe and Cappuccine until the end of June. Explore your blended lemonade options with our Jet Arctic Lemonade Promotion. There are also, new cups and lids to make your shop stand apart and show it’s independence.
