HERBAL TEA
Strictly speaking, herbal teas aren’t really teas. True teas are produced from Camellia sinensis. Infusions of other plants are called tisanes.
Tisanes may be prepared from the leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, roots, and other parts of many different plants. A wide variety of plants are used for herbal teas: chamomile, ginger, yerba mate, peppermint, lemongrass, and many, many more. Of particular note is rooibos, a bush whose leaves are used to make rooibos tea, also known as red tea or African red tea. Rooibos tea, like most tisanes, contains no caffeine, making it attractive to tea lovers who are sensitive to caffeine.
