Kenya AA French Mission
Description:

French Mission Bourbon is descended from the original Bourbon varietal from La Reunion Island that was introduced by French Missionaries in the late 1890’s into Kenya. The estate which this coffee grows, Chania Estate, is named after the river that runs through the district. This area receives over 76 centimeters of rain every year, and combined with the deep red volcanic soil and perfect temperatures, it provides the peak conditions to express the genetic treasures of this original varietal.

Roastmaster Notes:
Kenyan coffees are one of our favorite origins to source each year. We always cup offerings blind, so we have a truly fair table set in front of us. This particular coffee stood out easily on our cupping table. From the intoxicating tropical fruit aromas, to the balanced lemon acidity and the inherent sweetness of the cup, this is truly an amazing coffee find. Not only does the family who own this farm produce stellar coffees, they have also donated more than 50 acres of their land to the Thika Municipal Council and co-founded the Wabeni Technical Institute that provides education to under privileged children in practical skills that can help them make a living.
