Coffee & Espresso Basics
At its root, specialty coffee is based on quality. Creating quality drinks and explaining their merits to your customers takes alot of knowledge and practice. This class is designed to provide you with a broad range of theory and practical experience to give you a solid base on which to build your specialty coffee education.

Objectives
- Learn a short history of coffee production
- Gain an understanding of the path of coffee from seed to cup
- A basic understanding of processing and decaffeination
  techniques
- Learn to appreciate and evaluate coffee taste
- Taste varietal and roast characteristics
- Learn a short history of espresso
- Qualify the basic terms of specialty drinks and equipment
- Learn and practice the basics of pulling a shot, steaming and frothing milk, and drink preparation.
