WHY THIS CLASS?
When you stop to think about it, a great cup of coffee is pretty amazing. At least a dozen factors have seriously influenced its taste as it’s traveled thousands of miles from seed to cup over a period of rarely less than 6 months. When considering the hours upon hours of careful, backbreaking work that went into growing and processing a specialty coffee, brewing it seems at once relatively insignificant and a terribly heavy responsibility. Taking this class will help give you the knowledge you need to consistently brew the great coffee your customers love.
OBJECTIVES
We will give an introduction to the science of brewing.
We will help you understand the factors that affect taste and how you can manipulate them.
Then you’ll practice both tasting and empirically measuring brewed coffee balance.
